Crossville Council Approves Purchase Of Village Inn, Public Comment Next Step

The Crossville City Council unanimously voted to purchase the Village Inn on first reading Tuesday night.

A $450,000 price tag with $20,000 in earnest money. The low-income housing will close 60 days after the third reading of the purchase. Mayor RJ Crawford said the city has no plans for the facility at this time.

A period of public comment will be open to the community in the future before the final purchase is made. Some council members urged residents and tenants of the inn to attend to voice their concerns.

The former hotel was temporarily shut down earlier this year due to code infractions. The nature of how the city closed the inn lead to the suspension of City Manager Greg Wood.
