Crossville City Manager Performance Evaluation Completed By Council, Mayor

Crossville City Manager Greg Wood received a 4.45 out of 5 on his performance evaluation by the city council.

Wood received his highest score in fiscal management. Receiving the highest scores for preparing a balanced budget at a level directed by the council and making the best possible use of available funds.

Wood received his lowest score for citizen relations. In that category, Wood’s lowest ratings were for effort to maintain citizen satisfaction with city services and meeting with and listening to community members to discuss concerns and striving to understand their interests.

All Council Members and Mayor James Mayberry provided a brief statement on Wood’s strengths and suggestions for enhanced performance.

For Wood’s strengths, Mayor Pro Tem Art Gernt said Wood has done a good job navigating Crossville through a year of unknowns, his COVID response, financial and personnel management. Council Member Scot Shanks said Wood is professional and easy to work with.

In areas that Wood could enhance his performance, Council Member Rob Harrison said that Wood should train up a successor to his position. Mayberry said that Wood could provide more compassion for citizen concerns and problems to achieve more satisfactory results.
