Crossville Approves New Solid Waste Contract

The Crossville City Council has approved a new contract for solid waste collections.

The council awarded the contract to Cumberland Waste Disposal for $239,847. The new contract will save the city approximately $150,000 a year.

Yard waste and leaves will be collected by city workers as the city has budgeted money to purchase a leaf collection vehicle.

Under the contract, it will $5.17 per household and $2.40 for collection of carts at commercial buildings. Bulk waste will cost $5 per pickup and dumpster collections will cost $38.
