Crossville Airport Completes Multiple Projects

The Crossville Airport has repainted its terminal and wants to update the decor inside.

City Manager Greg Wood said the city is trying to make the airport as appealing as possible since it is a gateway to Crossville.

“We got some plans with our CARES money to put some new furniture in there, and we got some projects that are long over do,” Wood said. “We will have some funding to do somethings here and there to improve it.”

The maintenance hangar roof was also repaired for leaks. Wood said water was dripping into airplane engines and causing damage to insulation in the building.  The repairs costs about $200,000.

“With the maintenance hangar, they have aircraft that are not cheap,” Wood said. “They have the hoods off of them and if you have a leak from the roof and it happens over an aircraft with an open engine, that is not good. Those are all resolved now.”

Wood said the maintenance hanger also has new skylights to allow more light to come in for workers. Paneling was placed on the walls to help prevent damage to the new insulation installed.
