Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) unveiled a new patient financing program Monday through Horizon Health Fund.
Michelle Peabody is the patient financial point of service supervisor at CRMC.
“We are very excited about this new partnership for our patients with Horizon Health Fund,” Peabody said. “We have recognized the opportunity to offer assistance to our patients and being able to have affordable payment plans. The Horizon Health Fund is going to be able to offer our patients up to 24 months with zero percent interest.”
CRMC had previously been partnered with Med Financial. Patients currently making payments through Med Financial will not be affected, but all new billing will go through Horizon Health Fund as of Monday.
Peabody said the new partnership will ultimately benefit CRMC’s patients.
“It’s a very easy program, just one that requires our patients to sign an application or an agreement. Once they have that established, they are set with Horizon Health Fund,” Peabody said. “Even any future visits, they can have it added. They just let us know that they want this added to their existing payment plan and we get everything set up for them.”
Peabody said although Med Financial did allow zero interest up to 12 months, any plans exceeding that amount would’ve brought additional fees to those with longer payment plans.
“We were not able to extend those months any further without there being any additional cost to the patient,” Peabody said. “With Horizon Health Fund, the opportunity arose for us to extend that 0-12 month to 0-24 months. I think we’ll be able to accommodate a lot more of our patients and be able to get them the payment plans that they need that fits their budget.”
Peabody said patients with questions about the new financing program can contact CRMC for additional information.
