Crafts Entered And Judged At Fair Saturday

County fairs and blue ribbons go hand in hand.

UT Extension Agent Michelle Parrot said a whole lot of blue ribbons will go out Saturday when the craft and cultural items are brought in and judged at the Putnam County Fair.

Those items cover everything from chocolate chip cookies to quilts, from woodworking to painting.

“It’s been part of fairs as long as I can remember even as a small child entering in departments then working with UT Extension we’re always part of entries at the fair it’s always a great tradition in Putnam County,” Parrot said.

Entry for crafts and cultural items takes place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Judging begins at noon and the items go on display as soon as the judging is complete, Parrot said.

Crafts and cultural items can be found in the cultural arts building at the fairgrounds, except for floral items and potted plants, they’re under the south grandstands.
