CPD Officer to Appear in Court Tuesday On Assault Charges

A Cookeville Police Officer facing assault charges against his wife will appear in court Jan. 8 in White County.

White County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 29-year-old Kyle Farley, of Sparta, on domestic and aggravated assault charges Thursday stemming from a Dec. 21 incident.

Arrest warrants indicate Farley and his wife began arguing after she returned home from work. The argument escalated and became physical before Farley used his city-issued stun gun on his wife.

Farley told detectives following the incident that the stun gun caused severe pain and lasted until she begged him to stop.

The warrant also indicates that two children were also inside the home at the time of the incident.

Cookeville Police placed Farley on administrative leave Thursday following his arrest.
