Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox will serve on a specialized board.
Cox was chosen to serve on the Appalachian High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area executive board.
The Appalachian High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area consists of 86 counties in Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee and Virginia. Member agencies work together to find creative ways to combat drugs, drug trafficking, and related crimes in their areas.
Cox will serve through 2018.
