COVID Vaccines Become Available For School Employees

In the latest round of distributions, school employees that work directly with children are now eligible to receive a COVID vaccine .

Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said he is encouraging White County staff to take advantage of the opportunity.

“In White County, all of our folks in the schools that work with school based age children are eligible to get the vaccination,” Dronebarger said. “I got mine this morning, and I am encouraging all of our faculty and staff to do so.”

Dronebarger said to contact your local health department for more information.

Jackson County school employees can also receive the vaccine. Director of Schools Kristy Brown said doses arrived to the county’s health department Wednesday.

“I got a call on Tuesday from our health department in Jackson County saying it is possible the vaccine could be available as early as today for teachers and school staff,” Brown said. “I got notification today confirming that.”

Brown said Jackson County is conducting drive thru vaccinations for any employee interested.
