Backstage Series at CPAC presents: Love Letters by AR Gurney, Directed by Kimberly Frick-Welker. Love Letters is the beautiful story of Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner, childhood friends whose lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards.

Audiences get a glimpse into a lifetime between two people who grew up together and went their separate ways. Although physically apart, Melissa and Andy remained spiritually close as only true lovers.

August’s featured artist at the Cookeville Performing Arts Center is David Stone. Dave Stone was born in Washington State in the summer of 1983. Having been homeschooled through high school, he was able to draw his younger sister Sarah…. A lot.

When he was 11 he entered a drawing of his sister into the county fair and won first place. He hasn’t put the pencils and paint brushes down since. Although Dave is now a starving artist, his dreams and passions are still very much alive today.

Viewers may enjoy the art Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at 10 E. Broad St in the CPAC lobby.

Cookeville – Domino Derby

Activiteams is a FREE group for 20-29 year olds that meets, then splits up into random smaller groups. Those groups then spend the next hour and a half completing a task, competing with the other groups, or solving a problem together – all while they get to know each other.

At this FREE Activiteams meeting, we’ll divide into teams and build a domino course ultimately composed of more than 1,000 dominoes – complete with tricks and stunts – that we’ll set off at end of the night. Guided questions and prompts will ensure everyone gets to know each other while they engineer a fun-filled night.
