UCAAAD Offers SNAP Assistance

Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability (UCAAAD) is now offering application assistance with SNAP, formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, for adults 60 and over or individuals with a disability to provide eligible individuals with monthly benefits to buy food. Applicants 60 and over or an individual with a disability can now call the UCAAAD SNAP Benefits Coordinator at (931) 432-4111 for free and confidential application assistance.

Good Neighbor Theatre proudly reopens its doors to Community involvement. Our youth Drama Camp is . The cost is $60 per child. Encouraging all to attend. Scholarships are avaliable for those children needing some assistance. Our community has been very supportive of all our youth programs. No child will be turned away. The director of our camp is Nick Kidd. Nick has been the director for all three previous camps. He is a multitalented young man who can act dance sing and writes his own plays.
The Drama Camp is to help children to break out of their shells and see that they can learn to act, sing, and dance.
Please contact Missy Davis at 931-704-1894 to reserve your place. The theme will be Aladdin, which will lead right into the auditions for the youth production of Aladdin.
The theatre will provide snacks and water.
Once again the cost is $60 per child.
On Friday evening July 16, 2021 there will be a performance showcasing the hard work and talent that has been developed.

 Hillham- Marbles Camp for Kids – Presented By The Standing Stone State Park July 19-July 22 at Standing Stone State Park from 9:00am – 2:00pm everyday.  Summer Marbles Camp for Kids will be four days and is designed for children ages 6 to 13. 

Marbles and local marble traditions have been celebrated at Standing Stone State Park for 38 years, as Standing Stone State Park host the “World Famous” National Rolley Hole Marbles Championship and Festival each September. The objective of this camp is to allow your children to take a step back in time, see the fun of a marbles and experience local community heritage / Tennessee traditions. 

Registration is open now and will close when camp reaches it maximum of 20 campers. Online pre-registration and a $30.00 fee are required for all campers in attendance. Following completion of online pre-registration, please complete and mail the 2021 Marble Camp for Kids Registration Packet. (Packet is available for download below.)

Register now for an opportunity found nowhere else and 4 days of marble fun!!

Advanced Marble Camp’s maximum number of students is 20. You may email Shawn.Hughes@tn.gov to place your name on a waiting list if you were not able to register before camp maximum was met.

Cookeville – Cane Creek Walking Club Presented By Cane Creek Gym

The Cane Creek Gymnasium would like to invite you to take part of our fist ever Walking Club. Registration for the club opens July 5th and the price is just $5.00 to register. Walking will take place in the Gym on Tuesday and Thursday beginning August 17th at 8am and end March 31st 2022. Daily walking cost is just $1.00. All laps walked in the gym will be counted towards a total of miles walked. The person who walks the most miles will earn a gym pass worth 35 regular visits!
