Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability (UCAAAD) is now offering application assistance with SNAP, formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, for adults 60 and over or individuals with a disability to provide eligible individuals with monthly benefits to buy food. September is Spread the Love month for Food to the Rescue. Throughout the month, they are collecting 16 oz jars of peanut butter. These jars will be distributed throughout the year to their recipients!
Their goal is to reach 4500 jars of peanut butter, and 180 jars of a nut alternative butter the the children with nut allergies. You can also make a monetary donation to Food to the Rescue to be used to buy peanut butter!

Read 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program Available At The Millard Oakley Public Library. The Library participates in this program by providing prizes to preschoolers for reading. The child writes down 100 book titles they have read alone or with their caregiver. They turn in each sheet and get a prize, the biggest prize is after they have read their 1000 books!
