The White County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) has fired a corrections officer for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
Authorities charged 21-year-old Christopher Frazier with domestic assault following the incident last week
The arrest report states Frazier and his girlfriend got into an altercation after the woman allegedly took Frazier’s cell phone.
The report indicates Frazier then pinned the woman down by grabbing her neck. Frazier later admitted to authorities that the incident did occur and was then charged with domestic assault.
WCSO Director of Administration Cami Howard released a statement saying Frazier’s arrest was part of an ongoing investigation.
“All employees of the White County Justice Center agree to a code of ethics that requires them to be exemplary in obeying the law and respecting the rights of all,” Howard wrote. “This expectation applies to their personal lives as well as their time serving this county.”
Frazier was booked into the White County Jail Thursday on $500 bond.
