The virtual celebration of Cookeville’s Father Daughter Date Night is set to begin February 14th.
Five different virtual activities are planned for the two week event. Recreation Superintendent Cara Sheets said families can participate through the Leisure Services Facebook page.
“We didn’t necessarily want to do something where people had to log on at a certain time, but maybe can do it in their own schedule,” Sheets said. “And then, we also wanted to figure out things for people to do if they preferred to stay at home or if they did prefer to go out into town.”
Festivities begin February 16th with a scavenger hunt date. Sheets said on that date, locations across Cookeville will be released via Facebook. Sheets said to participate, upload photos of the found items or sites in the comments for a chance to win prizes.
“One of the big things about father/daughter in the past is we have tons of fabulous door prizes from amazing vendors from around here in town,” Sheets said. “We’re just very blessed with lots of businesses that give and give. We wanted to still do that, so we are offering different contests, so people can win those prizes.”
The remainder of the schedule goes as followed: February 18th brings a father and daughter dance off, February 21st is posting photos of past father daughter date nights, February 23rd’s post asks for a current photo of this year’s event and lastly, February 25th families can comment their favorite memories of date nights.
“All of these contests from the moment they are posted through the 27th they can enter,” Sheets said. “They enter by just posting below the post.”
Sheets said families have until the 27th to be eligible to win door prizes.
