Cookeville Minister Jeremiah Tatum delivered the opening prayer Wednesday in the US House of Representatives.
Tatum has served the congregation at Willow Avenue Church of Christ for the past eight years. He served as guest chaplain in the House Wednesday as the guest of Congressman Diane Black.
“It is a great privilege to have a fellow Tennessean lead us in this sacred tradition today,” Black said in a statement. “I know our community and the Willow Avenue congregation are proud to have him with us in Washington, and I thank him for opening our day in prayer.”
