Cookeville’s Father Daughter Date Night Tickets On Sale This Saturday

Tickets for Cookeville’s 35th annual Father Daughter Date Night go on sale this Saturday, January 8th.

Leisure Services Recreation Superintendent Cara Sheets said that the event is a way for fathers and daughters to carve out some bonding time and create new memories and traditions.

“I think the tradition of it is really important to a lot of people,” Sheets said. “Just from getting their dress together, or some people have their own traditions where they don’t let their dads see their dress for a while. It’s just the things that they make individually special for each individual family.”

Sheets said that the event is so popular in the community it sometimes sells out. She said that it averages about 1,400 attendees across the four nights.

“First we’ll have some different areas set up for photos,” Sheets said. “And then they can come down into the main ballroom where we’ve got a big dinner ready for everyone. We’ve got a bunch of door prizes and enough where hopefully somebody from your party will win. And then we start off with a little dancing, and dance the night away.”

Sheets said having the event virtually taught organizers how much it means to the community. She said that the best part of the Father-Daughter Date Night is seeing it evolve over time.

“To see all this, all the magic that happens,” Sheets said. “The young daughters with their dads, and the ones that have been coming maybe thirty years, who are now maybe mothers themselves and maybe they come with their spouse and their daughters. So it’s very transgenerational, and it’s just beautiful to watch.”

Online tickets go on sale at 8 a.m at $30 each with a purchase limit of 10. Date night will take place on February 18th, 19th, 25th, and 26th at 6 p.m. at the Leslie Town Centre.
