Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Cookeville woman after a bullet struck an apartment unit occupied by two people.
Lauren M. Sims faces charges of reckless endangerment, vandalism, public intoxication, and possession of a handgun while under the influence of alcohol. She will answer to the charges during a March 23 court date.
Deputies arrested Sims on Sunday after responding to 3261 Hilham Road. An warrant said Sims admitted to firing a Glock 19 into an apartment unit occupied two times. The report noted that deputies located a bullet hole outside the habitation, which could have entered a bedroom.
Sims also faces a resisting arrest charge after she allegedly attempted to head butt and kick two deputies.
