Cookeville Summer Camps Registrations Are Open

As school is ending, it’s time for kids to start planning their summer activities.

Sign-ups for summer camps at Cane Creek Recreation Center are underway, but there are already few spaces remaining. Cookeville Leisure Services Special Programs Coordinator Jen Webb said it’s important for kids to have an opportunity like this to enjoy summer fun and gain new experiences.

“We always really want to encourage individuality and for kids to have a great place to come and do things that spark imagination and for them to walk away from it feeling fulfilled that they’ve had a great time and some good experiences, and meet some new friends,” said Webb.

The recreational day camp is upgrading from last year’s COVID restrictions–this year they’re able to go on field trips and go swimming–and Webb said she hopes campers are attending are able to make new memories.

“It’s an opportunity to just be a kid and spend some time outside playing games, being crafty, and all things fun,” said Webb.

In addition to the recreational day camp, there are also many sports camps available including lacrosse, volleyball and basketball camps. The age range for all camps vary between ages five to 12.

Webb said that while they’ve increased their capacity for camp since last year, availability is already limited. Visit Cookeville Leisure Services website for more information.
