Cookeville Soldier Injured In Ft. Jackson Accident

An Upper Cumberland soldier was among the injured in an accident at Fort Jackson, S.C. Friday.

Pvt. Benjamin Key of Cookeville and five other soldiers were injured. Pvt. Alan Michael Kryszak of Clarksville was also injured. Two soldiers were killed. Injured soldiers were taken to hospitals off base, according to the Army.

Fort Jackson’s Public Affairs office said somehow a military vehicle collided with a troop formation. Army officials called the incident a tragic accident. An investigation into the incident continues.
