A baby formula shortage that left many parents concerned earlier this year seems to be less severe.
That is according to Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic THRIVE Parent Education Director Lisa Reeves. Reeves said she hears from clients that supply has been easier to find.
“It was completely empty and people were very panicked,” Reeves said. “We even had clients here where if we even had just two, three or four cans of something they would want it all, because they were so panicked. But now, I’m seeing the shelves, and they are certainly not as empty as they once were.”
Reeves said new parents still remain slightly concerned about supply however. Reeves said specialty formula or more popular brands can still be a challenge to find.
Reeves said the shortage actually raised an awareness in the community. Reeves said more people in the community seemed more willing to donate extra formula to the clinic throughout the year.
