Cookeville Police On Scene Of Shooting At West End Park

Cookeville Police are on the scene of a shooting at West End Park with a heavy presence at the park currently.

“This is in response to a shooting that just occurred,” Cookeville Police Spokesperson Anthony Leonard said.

Police are searching for at least one, possibly two, suspects who ran from the park. One person is wearing all black.

“We wanted to make sure that the residents in the area are aware of what’s happening,” Leonard said. “Report anything suspicious that you do see. If someone is running through a yard that may be suspicious to you, certainly call the police department.”

The incident happened shortly before 5pm Friday. West End Park is located off Highway 70, just west of Willow Avenue.
