The Cookeville Police K-9 officers will be better protected thanks to a donation from a national company.
The five K-9 officers will each receive bullet and stab-proof vests, thanks to a donation from Perrigo Animal Health, the parent company of PetArmor flea and tick medication.
The company partnered with national nonprofit Vested Interest to provide the vests. Since 2013, Perrigo has donated 75 vests to law enforcement agencies nationwide.
