The Cookeville Planning Commission will consider plans for a redevelopment off of Freehill Road when they meet tonight.
The Cookeville City Council approved a Redevelopment Area Overlay Ordinance in May allowing the project to move forward. It marked the city’s 5th RAO ordinance.
The project calls for replacing a current mobile home park with a 51 lot development for low-to-moderate income families.
“This is going to be very nice and it’s going to be quite an asset,” Cookeville Vice Mayor Larry Epps said. “It’s going to be affordable housing so it hits everything on all cylinders. I look forward to our RAO redistricting continuing in this fashion.”
The planning commission meets at 5:30 p.m. inside Cookeville’s City Hall.
