Cookeville PD Investigating Saturday Crash

A vehicle struck and injured a Nashville man in Cookeville Saturday evening.

The Cookeville Police Department said an air ambulance airlifted 49-year-old Donavan Daniels to Chattanooga’s Erlanger Hospital for unspecified injuries.

The crash happened when Daniels attempted to cross East Jackson Street near Kroger. A CPD statement said Daniels was struck by a 2019 Chevy Tahoe, driven by 52-year-old Dawnetta Waters of Cookeville.

Police on Sunday said Daniel was in critical but stable condition.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
