Cookeville PD Await Positive ID on Skeletal Remains

The Cookeville Police Department is still awaiting new information in its investigation of skeletal remains found earlier this month.

Cookeville Police Captain Bobby Anderson said the remains are with the county coroner’s office. He said the hope is that a positive identification can be made in the case. Anderson said any finding of foul play are not expected. Anderson said the identification process could take weeks.

The skeletal remains were discovered during the search and rescue operations following the March 3 tornado. The remains believed to be two-to-three years old.
