Cookeville is moving forward with efforts to bring curbside recycling to the city.
Residents of four Cooekville subdivisions will soon be receiving a survey about curbside recycling.
City Planning Department Director James Mills said one subdivision will eventually be selected to take part in a curbside recycling pilot program.
“This will be no charge to the residents in the subdivision and the city will provide them cans that the city will pick up,” Mills said. “We will most likely pickup every two weeks for a couple of months. We wanted to do this to see how well it works before we decide or make a decision about going city-wide.”
The subdivisions being surveyed include Windrowe, Sugartree, Walton Trace, and Village Green.
Curbside is recycling something residents stated as a high desire in the Envision Cookeville Survey.
