A Cookeville man has landed behind bars after leading Putnam County authorities on a chase following a domestic incident Thursday.
48-year-old Duane Eugene Major is charged with domestic assault, interference with an emergency call, and evading arrest.
According to a report, Major had allegedly knocked a female victim to the ground and later stole her phone when she attempted to call 911.
Authorities eventually made contact with Major’s vehicle in the area of Broad Street and Pippen Road. The report states that Major led authorities on a chase before he was arrested and taken to the Putnam County Jail.
His bond was set at $5,000 and he will appear in court on November 27th.
