Cookeville Man Charged With Violating Sex Offender Registry

A Cookeville man has landed behind bars for violating the sex offender registry.

Deputies with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gary Ray Collins in Hickman County Wednesday.

An arrest warrant accuses him of failing to disclose required information to the registry. The warrant said Collins was not living at the address that he had registered on.

He’s under $5,000 bond at the Putnam County Jail. The Tennessee Sex Offender Registry database states that Collins had to register as a sex offender following his 2003 conviction for sexual battery.
