A Cookeville man faces a rape charge after he was arrested Wednesday.
Nicholas Jay Stewart, 23, of Carolina Avenue, was arrested Wednesday evening.
Cookeville Police Major Carl Sells said incident has been under investigation since May.
“Back on May 19, when we became involved in this case, it occurred at a local residence and the accused is charged with raping an acquaintance,” Sells said.
Stewart was released on a $50,000 bond.
