A Cookeville man faces charges of reckless endangerment and evading arrest following a Sunday night pursuit.
Authorities have identified the subject as 29-year-old Curtis Reed.
Reed was the driver of a red Mitsubishi eclipse when the chase started on Highway 111 northbound.
A Putnam County Sheriff’s deputy followed Reed who eventually entered the eastbound side of Interstate 40. Reed allegedly continued on to Exit-290 where he drove down the wrong side of Highway 70 and entered westbound I-40.
The chase ended when Reed took Exit 287 and crashed into a retaining wall in the parking lot of Hardee’s on South Jefferson Avenue.
He’s under an $11,000 bond at the Putnam County Jail.
