Cookeville Jaycees Hosting Festival Of Trees For Camp Discovery

The Cookeville JayCees hosting its fourth annual Festival of Trees as a fundraiser for those with disabilities Friday.

National President and Local Member Margo Dirkson said local partners sponsor and decorate a tree to be sold in a live auction. Margo said the funds go towards scholarships for the organization’s Camp Discovery in Gainesboro.

“It’s a camp that specializes in special physical and mentally challenged individuals,” Dirkson said. “This gives them a place to go and be a camper for a week to get that full camp experience.”

Dirkson said about 15 trees will be on display at the Saltbox Inn starting at 6:00 p.m. Dirkson said tickets are $25 a piece or $40 a pair. With your ticket purchase, Dirkson said participants get a free musical performance with wine and cheese.

Dirkson said Cookeville Jaycees is a civic organization that positively impacts communities by developing local leaders. Tickets available by calling 931.310.4392 or contact cookevillejaycees@gmail.com.
