The Cookeville office of the Tennessee Department Of Health received a $1.17 million grant from the federal government Wednesday.
The Department of Health and Human Services grant will be used to support the COVID-19 fight through testing, treatment, or increased staffing.
The local grant ranked as the fifth largest awarded in Tennessee. More than $25 million will go to 29 different Volunteer State organizations.
It is part of the CARES Act signed into law March 27.
