Cookeville’s Goodwill Career Solutions Center will be hosting a job fair Thursday with 11 local employers looking for new team members.
Public Relations and Communication Manager Chris Fletcher said some 300 jobs open to those seeking work.
“The reason Goodwill does all this we are a non-profit organization whose mission is changing lives through education, training and employment and Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee has been doing that across middle and west Tennessee since 1957,” Fletcher said.
Fletcher said interested workers should bring a resume, photo I.D and social security card or birth certificate. Fletcher said dress for success, because it is not unusual to get a job on the spot.
“This is one of our larger job fairs recently there in Cookeville, but we do hold them routinely,” Fletcher said. “(…) We host a variety of not only job fairs but free training and classes for folks there in the community seeking work.”
Fletcher said many types of job will be available ranging from machine operators, care givers, food services and more. Fletcher said positions pay up to $16 an hour.
The event begins at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at 565 South Jefferson Avenue. Companies present include Aphena Pharma Solutions, Altium Packaging, Home Instead, Purdue Farms, Jackson Kayak, Bledsoe County Corrections, Resource MFG, Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Addus Home Care, Work Staffing and Goodwill Industries Of Middle Tennessee.
