Cookeville Driver Services Center Reopens With Limited Capacity

The Driver Services Center Cookeville location reopened Thursday morning after a shortage of staff caused a temporary closure last week.

Wesley Moster is the State Department of Safety and Homeland Security Director of Communications. Moster said COVID precautions in place before the shutdown are still being practiced.

Capacities are limited inside with masks required as you enter. Each customer will go through a COVID screening before entering the Jefferson Avenue office.

If limited capacities have been met, people are asked to wait in their vehicles until being notified by call or text to enter.

Moster said customers are encouraged to use the E-Services portal where most business can be completed. Appointments can also be made for driver license services and driving tests.
