Cookeville CPA Office Joins Nashville Based Firm

A long-time Cookeville CPA firm is joining forces with a Nashville based firm to expand services.

Duncan, Wheeler, and Wilkerson P.C.  joins Carr, Riggs, and Ingram LLC. CRI Cookeville Branch Partner Administrator Shane Wheeler said CRI will provide better technology and expanded services to the previous independent firm.

“I think it’ll give Cookeville another choice of residence, a different kind of firm, a large southeastern based firm that now will have a footprint in Cookeville ,” Wheeler said. “We’ve never had that before. We may have some services that are offered that we’ve not had here.”

Duncan, Wheeler, and Wilkerson’s Cookeville branch of 10 joins CRI’s office of 1,900 CPA professionals. Wheeler said it felt like the right time to expand since Cookeville is a growing community.

CRI’s services include tax analysis, tax planning, auditing, bookkeeping, and payroll. Wheeler said Duncan, Wheeler, and Wilkerson will keep their location, staff, and services.

“We will have a larger pool of talent to draw from, and it should be beneficial to all my staff here as well-as well as all the clients,” Wheeler said. “It also brings, with a larger group of people you have the safety in numbers. As being a smaller firm in times like we’ve just seen like the tornado, anything can happen.”

Wheeler said it’s better to have a larger geographical base for staff and IT instead of keeping it all in a small area.

CRI is part of the top 25 CPA and advisory firms in the United States.

The Carthage branch of Duncan, Wheeler, and Wilkerson has not joined CRI.
