Cookeville Police asking Tennessee Tech students and other visitors to make sure they are parking in legal spaces around the university.
The city has received several complaints about illegally parked cars near the university campus. Some residents said they have been blocked into their own driveways because of the issue.
The city is strongly encouraging everyone in the area to use locations near campus that are dedicated for parking. Options include city-owned public parking spaces or Tech’s various paid lots for students.
The complaints have been kept anonymous but citizens in the city’s 8th Street Historic District have been vocal about Tech students filling the area with parked cars for multiple years.
