Cookeville Church Holding Special Service Supporting Israel

The Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Cookeville is holding a special service Sunday night supporting Israel.

Pastor Mark Gaw said he wants to remind people that God has a plan for the future of Israel. Gaw said he hopes those in attendance learn how they can support Israel in spiritual and material ways.

“This is the third year and I just wanted to put more of an emphasis of having a meal and how people can get more involved in praying for Israel,” Gaw said. “And blessing God’s people.”

Gaw said the church is a part of Chosen People Ministries which helps support the children who survived the holocaust. Gaw said the free meal begins at 5:00 PM, with the service beginning at 6:00 PM in the church gym.

“I’ll be preaching a message about what God’s future agenda for Israel is,” Gaw said. “Then at the end we’ll be praying for the nation of Israel, praying for God’s people and we’ll also give opportunities of how people can get more involved in supporting the nation of Israel.”

The Washington Avenue Baptist Church is located at 1621 North Washington Avenue.
