Cookeville’s Blood Assurance location changing business hours.
Team Leader Shelley Dishman said instead of closing at 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, they will now close at 8 p.m.
“Everyone that wants to donate blood can get here and donate,” Dishman said. “We can’t supply the hospitals if we don’t have donations so we wanted to extend our hours to allow people to come in and give that donation to help the hospitals.”
Dishman said they hope the hourly expansion might get more potential donors in who haven’t been able to come before. She said all of the location’s services will remain the same except platelet donation. Those donations will now be performed later in the day.
Dishman said with donation opportunities both early in the morning and late in the evening, they hope to better serve the area hospitals with blood, platelets, and blood products.
