The City of Cookeville approved a Kansas company to begin the major debris cleanup in the highway 70 corridor.
Custom Tree Service of Kansas submitted the low bid for the contract. Following council approval Thursday afternoon, City Manager James Mills said the company was notified. A final contact could be in place as early as Friday, Mills said.
“Once the notice to proceed is issued, the company will have 48 hours to mobilize,” Mills said.
The council also approved a debris monitoring agreement with Thompson Consulting of Florida. The firm monitors the disposal of disaster debris to ensure state and federal rules are followed.
