Lite Rock 95.9 and 106-9 Kicks Country will join with local pastors to present a Live Easter Sunrise Service Sunday morning.
“With the COVID-19 outbreak, there’s just not the opportunity to join together as we normally would,” Operations Manager Marcia Lee said. “However, we hope this can provide a little bit of normalcy on Easter Sunday.”
The broadcast will air live on both stations and on Facebook Live beginning at 6am. The local ministers will gather outside the Stonecom Studios overlooking the hills of Putnam and White Counties.
The one-hour service will include:
- Pastor Tim Dunavant Of Gainesboro First United Methodist Church
- Pastor Mark Gaw of Washington Avenue Baptist Church
- Pastor Chris Howard of Life Church Of Sparta
- Father Michael McLaughlin of First Presbyterian Church of Cookeville
- Father Chris Nunes Da Silva of St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church
- Pastor James Shenko of Livingston First Christian Church
- Pastor Jason Stanford of Trinity Assembly
The service is presented by Buck’s Plumbing, Cookeville City Scape, Honey Baked Hams, County Mayor Randy Porter, Freddy Duncan and Sons Moving and Storage, State Representative Ryan Williams, DAS Auto, and Cookeville Mayor Ricky Shelton.
“We hope this provides a gathering place – at least on the radio and internet – for our community,” Lee said.
Though the annual Stonecom Easter Egg Hunt will not be held this year, Stonecom will provide “Breakfast With the Easter Bunny” via Facebook Live Saturday morning at 9am. Kids can gather on Lite Rock 95.9’s Facebook page and enjoy their Saturday breakfast with the bunny. He will answer questions and kids can share their last-minute gift requests.
Kids can also win a bike with Easter Egg Hunt coloring contests at our websites.
