Committee To Consider Park Hours At Meadow Creek

Monterey officials will meet on Friday to discuss the possibility of creating operating hours for the new Meadow Creek Lake Park.

Mayor Bill Wiggins said the city’s insurance provider recommended limiting operating hours for safety and security reasons.

“It could come to the point where will will have it locked at certain times,” Wiggins said. “This is just a wild guess, but maybe sunup to sundown.”

The Monterey Building and Grounds Committee will discuss the matter when they meet Friday at Noon.

In July, the city’s insurance provider recommended making several changes at the park to address potential safety issues.

The city has posted no trespassing signs on each end of the dam and will consider adding no swimming signs in the near future.
