Commercial Vehicles Crash On Interstate 40 In Putnam Co.

A crash on Interstate 40 westbound backed up traffic for nearly five miles in Putnam County Thursday.

Tennessee Highway Patrol officials said two commercial vehicles collided between exit 290 and mile marker 291 around 4:15 p.m.

The crash scattered debris on the roadway, causing a delay in the cleanup process.

Officials said only minor injuries occurred and the roadway opened back up around 8:00 p.m.
