The Clay County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a 46-year-old female, last seen in the Main Street area of Celina.
April Mahan was seen on Saturday at her Clay County residence around 7:30 am. She lives near Macon Bank on Main Street. Clay County Detective Anthony Cain said Mahan was last seen wearing yellow pajama pants and a white shirt and is believed to be driving a 1999 black Dodge Dakota with tailgate stickers. Sargent Detective Anthony Cain said she was seen traveling alone with a dog and seen at 273 Livingston Highway near Shaky Bar.
“Since she was entered in NGIC it’s actually BOLO’d out to all agencies in Clay County Tennessee and any other state as well,” Cain said. “So if anyone makes contact with her and runs the tag, which we don’t have a tag on the truck, but if anyone runs a ID and it comes back to her it’ll flag.”
Cain said that if the department gets an ID hit then they would arrive on location and conduct a welfare check. Cain said Mahan has multiple close friends in the Jackson County area, though their identification is unknown to her family.
“She is an adult so at this point she’s just been reported as missing,” Cain said. “I mean it could be just something simple as she just decided to hit the road but we are doing our due diligence to see if we can’t locate her.”
Cain said that Mahan’s family has made multiple attempts to contact her through text and phone calls with no answer.
“Everybody usually knows where she’s at,” Cain said. “That’s the reason the people that reported it were kind of concerned they hadn’t heard from her since Saturday.”
Cain said Mahan reportedly lives in Clay County off Ryan Road which is attached to James White Road. Information regarding Mahan’s whereabouts can be relayed to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office or Mahan’s next of kin at 931-239-2065 or 931-261-6196.
