Clay County Man Injured In Kentucky Crash

A Clay County man suffered critical injuries in a Cumberland County, Ky., crash Monday.

Kentucky State Police said the crash happened just before noon on Kentucky 61 just south of Burkesville.

Troopers said 69-year-old Peter Maynard was driving southbound in a Chevy Lumina when the vehicle suddenly went into the path of a freight liner.

Maynard had to be airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center following the crash. The driver of the freight liner did not suffer any injuries.
