Clay County High School Scoreboard Potentially by Spring

Clay County High School hopes to have a new scoreboard for the baseball and softball teams by the start of the season.

Clay County Athletic Director Rob Edwards said the school board voted to accept bids on the project, and bids are due by November 6. Edwards said he wanted to start making progress this Fall to make sure it’s ready for March.

“Kinda got a jump on it here in the Fall to go ahead and take bids and things, that way if we’re fortunate enough to purchase those that we’ll have plenty of time,” Edwards said. “To get them installed, in place and work out any bugs that might be in there before the opening day of softball and baseball.”

Edwards said the Clay County School Board will make its decision at the meeting following the due dates for bids. Also, this not the only scoreboard Clay County has updated this year.

“We did our high school football scoreboard earlier, that’s kind of still a process in work, we’ve got the new scoreboard up and part of the banners up,” Edwards said. “We’re also hoping to do a junior high baseball scoreboard at some point here before the Spring.”

Edwards said the junior high baseball scoreboard would be at Celina K-8. Edwards said he will not know the cost of the project until and if a bid is selected by the board.
