Clay County High School Gets Tech Donation

Every Clay County High School student gets a free pair of headphones and a phone charger this school year.

The Clay County Anti-Drug Coalition and the non-profit group Tennessee Voices came together to make this donation happen. Clay County High school Business Teacher Amy Dodson said a safe environment to use her computer lab just would not have been possible without this donation.

“Before I had one pair for every student, we sanitized those between students even before Coronavirus was a thing, but there’s no way that I could have done that this year and to have good headphones, noise canceling headphones with my class I couldn’t have afforded that for each of my 6 classes,” Dodson said.

Dodson said the earbuds help students learn at their own pace in class, by being able to go back over their online lessons without disturbing other students.

The phone chargers work with every type of phone, and have helped students do virtual learning on the go and without a computer Dodson said.
