Clay County High School students have started a help desk for virtual learners.
People can call from 11:45-12:45 daily for any virtual questions. Business Management Teacher Amy Dodson said virtual learning is new to Clay County, so a help desk was needed.
“We just wanted to help parents, grandparents, guardians and students who are dealing with learning how to be a virtual learner,” Dodson said. “And learning how to be a facilitator of virtual learning.”
Dodson said students assist callers and gain valuable customer service skills, which is in the curriculum standards. Dodson said majority of the calls received are related to the Google Classrooms.
“Some are just basic technology questions and some are about turning in assignments on Google classroom,” Dodson said. “Also, we get questions on how to join the Google Meet video classes.”
Dodson said the help desk will operate as long as students continue meeting online. Dodson said student from dual credit classes will also offer tutoring for any virtual student needing help.
Tutoring applications can be found on Clay County High School’s Website. Questions can also be sent to cchshelpdesk@clayedu.com outside of the operating hour.
