A Clay County woman is saddened and seeking answers after returning home Tuesday to find her 3-year-old Shiloh Sheppard suffering from a gunshot wound.
Mae Threet said her dog Shiva later died at a local vet.
“The entire way down there I was just telling her about all the good memories that we had and how she loved the water and chasing cows,” Threet said. “When we got to the vet they said they had shot her in the spinal column and that she was paralyzed. I had to make the decision to put her down.”
Threet said authorities took a report on the incident, but she hasn’t heard back from them at this time.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has not returned calls to comment about the incident.
No arrest have been made so far.
