City Adds Reserved Parking Spaces For Veterans

Veterans and their spouses will now have a closer walk to the Putnam County Veterans Service Office.

Director Mark Harris said he’s worked with Cookeville City Manager Mike Davidson to install three reserved spaces for veterans and their spouses at city hall.

“We didn’t have any reserved parking on our side of the building and we share the parking area with the city,” Harris said. “Since we had a ramp on the west side of our building I wanted to make something a little closer for those veterans so they could have a place to park. Especially for those that have a disability.”

Harris said he would like to reach out to area businesses to see if they would be interested in adding reserved spaces for veterans.

The Veterans Service Office is on East Spring Street right behind Cookeville City Hall.
