Chinese swimmers’ doping scandal causes concern, controversy ahead of Paris Olympics

Chinese swimmers who tested positive for the banned drug trimetazidine were allowed to swim at the Tokyo Olympic Games. The case came to light after a New York Times investigation. The World Anti-Doping Agency says it followed “due process” in accepting an explanation from Chinese officials, who said the swimmers ingested the banned drug inadvertently.
